This roadway maintenance program aims to convey best new practices in maintenance, reiterate proven procedures and technologies, and explain how to implement systems and strategies that fit individual needs. Speaker presentations address: the Michigan Department of Transportation preventive maintenance program and guidelines; integrating a pavement preventive maintenance or preservation program with pavement and road surface management systems; pavement management systems as a tool to coordinate the needs of cities, counties and states and communicate them effectively to local and state legislators; current best maintenance practices, philosophies, and technologies; integration of GPS and digital images into a pavement management system; temporary traffic control; and effective use of maintenance budget. |
