Ben Tigner is founder and chief executive officer of Overair, the Santa Ana, California, based aerial ridesharing company developing Butterfly, a purpose-built electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Ben leads all aspects of Overair's aircraft development and commercialization.


Ben has an established record as a preeminent engineer and executive. Prior to leading Overair, Ben pioneered the development of innovative fixed and rotary wing aircraft, both manned and unmanned. He previously served as the President of Karem Aircraft. Additionally, Ben was the Chief Engineer of the Boeing A160 program where he led all development efforts of the platform. Prior to that he was the Vice President of Engineering at Frontier Systems.


In addition to several patents, Ben holds a PhD in Physics and an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University, as well as a BA in Physics from Cornell University. He is also a private pilot.
