We provide professional development in traffic engineering, project development, infrastructure design and maintenance, policy and planning, safety, railroad, aviation, and multimodal transportation. Courses are updated regularly to reflect current professional practice. We have several formats of training to meet your needs, including in classrooms around the state, online at your desktop, or at your location. We can even develop customized training to meet your agency's needs.
Tech Transfer offers many classes covering transportation and urban planning topics, including complete streets, funding, and land use. These courses keep professional planners up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices and carry American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certificate Maintenance (CM) credits. Certified planners must engage in continuing education to maintain their AICP certification. Our classes can help planners reach that goal.
We offer a low-cost, on-site way to train everyone at the same time on the same techniques, at your location, in just one day. "Road Show" topics include work zone safety, flagging, pavement maintenance, guardrail, retroreflectivity -- topics just right for your crew. A limited number of Road Shows are now available to local agencies at half-price, thanks to the California Department of Transportation, Division of Local Assistance, through the Cooperative Training Assistance Program.
